As 2017 begins, eligible clinicians (ECs) are faced with deciding if and how they will participate in the MACRA Quality Payment Program. Most of those who are eligible will participate in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). With MIPS, you can “pick your pace”. This is what determines your timeline and level of participation. The more advanced you choose to be in MIPS, the higher your potential incentives. The range is from a -4% adjustment to a +12% incentive for the highest achievers. Here is an overview of the requirements for each "pace" of participation.
